Pickin' Punkins at the Potato Barn

With Ty getting laid off at the beginning of the week and us having to withdraw the offer we placed on a house, saying it put a damper on things was putting it a bit mildly.

So Friday after the kids got out of school we decided to take advantage of the fact that Ty was home and head to Bender's Potato Barn for a bit of fun.

Shortly after arriving, we had fun posing the kids for a few pictures.
And we enjoyed a bit of the scenery they had set up around the outside.

Then it was off to see the goats.
Next we enjoyed the big fat fluffy bunnies, including the adorable lop-eared ones.

Little Hee and Little Haw were quite happy to see us and get all the attention they were getting. They especially loved all the fresh picked grass the kids were feeding them.

And last but not least, we stopped for the little ponies that were next to the donkeys and fed them as well. This has got to be my favorite picture of the day.

The Horse Whisperer.

After lots of fun with the animals, we made our way to the maze of hay bales before the big pumpkin patch.

After much decision and a lot of walking, the kids decided on which pumpkins they were going to take home.

Making our way back to the barn to pay and see what other goodies they had inside...

Their barn is a little country store filled with lots of candies and homemade goodness that we had fun rummaging through and deciding what kinds of yummy sweets we were going to take home with us.

This was followed by a nice warm meal and lots of laughs and it was good to get out on such a nice, crisp fall day and let the kids run wild.
